Volkswagen has announced that it will bring the Golf R400 and GTI Roadster concepts at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Volkswagen Golf R400 was first seen in April at the Beijing Motor Show. The prototype has an updated 2.0 liter engine that can deliver 400 horsepower and 450 Nm peak of torque, with 100 HP and 70 Nm of torque more than the Golf VII R. It also features the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system and the six-speed DSG transmission. As a result, the Golf R400 can run from stand still to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h.
The second concept which will be revealed in LA is the GTI Roadster. It was first see at the Worthersee and it is the most spectacular GTI ever. It features a twin-turbo V6 3.0 liter unit rated at 503 horsepower and 559 Nm peak of torque. The engine resources are sent to the ground via a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system thanks to a seven speed DSG transmission. As a result, the run from not to 96 km/h is done in just 3.5 seconds, while the top speed was clocked at 309 km/h.
